I had a good week this week.  Mike had a class in Des Moines, Ia and I went with him.  His class was learning about Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs.  He said he learned a lot and that it was a good class.  While he was at the class I did my own thing.  I hung around at the motel and watched cable TV (we don't have cable at home), I walked up to a shopping center up the road from the motel and did a little shopping, and I swam at the pool at the motel.  Most of the time, though, I was on the computer.  I found something cool!  There are some websites you can go to and take online college classes for free.  You can't get any credits or grades for them and you don't register, you just listen to the lectures.  I started a course that has 17 lectures (it is a 10 week course on campus) and it is from UCLA.  It is a psychology course.  It is really interesting.  I got through 7 llectures this week.  It's a little time consuming for each lecture because the students that are actually in the class have power point handouts like the instructor shows on the screen in the front of the room that they can then take notes on.  Since I am just watching on the computer, I have to pause the lectures to copy his power points and outlines, then take additional notes.  That's ok, I am enjoying it anyway.  I will post the sites that you can find these free classes under a new tab that I will call "favorite things."  Check it out-there are a lot of classes on these sites.  There are even some for us medical people, like some lectures from professors at
    John Hopkins University.
Anyway, we got home from Des Moines yesterday.  Today I will go to North Sioux City and babysit Jonna's kids .  Mike is working today.

Welcome to my first blog!  Only a few things to say, and nothing exciting, but will say 'em anyway.
Kyle and Allanah (his girlfriend) came for supper Thursday night.  It went well.  Better than last time they were here and I burnt the lasagne!  This time we had ham and spuds and gravy and the whole works.  It all turned out good.  I made Corny Casserole, it's my new favorite.  I posted it under Food Recipes if you want to try it.  Anyway, Kyle is a little over 2 years working at Burger King.  I wish they could give him full time hours, but he continues to work part time.  Allanah (we call her Lana) is a senior this year at Sioux Falls Christian School.  They will have prom later this month.  I was all excited thinking I was going to go to Grand March and see them all dressed up for what will probably be the last time in a long time, but the school is thinking about not having Grand March anymore.  If they don't, I will be making the trip to Sioux Falls that day anyway to get some pictures of the two of them.  I will post some on here.
Mike and I went to Sioux City yesterday to set up for the swap meet today.  Mike has a booth there.  I will not be going.  It is a car parts swap meet-boring!  Haven't decided if I will stay home or find somewhere to go by myself today.  It's Saturday and we don't have cable, so there will be nothing good on TV.
The snow has been melting this week.  Our driveway has a pond in the middle of it, and there is still TONS of snow yet to melt.  It's gonna be a sloppy spring at our place!

Hello all!  I have decided to create my own webpage to see how it goes.  I thought this would be a good place for all my friends and family to visit.  So far I have put 2 tabs on the site.  The first is for some of my favorite food recipes.  The second is for all the other recipes that I use like the homemade laundry soap that I use.  So many of my friends and family have started using this laundry soap that I thought it would be a good thing to put on the site so we always have a place to go to find the recipe.  Besides that, I keep telling people about it and then I have to find the recipe and email it to them.  This way, I can just send them to my webpage and they can find it themselves.

Since this is a new website and I am still trying to figure out what to do with it, I am open to suggestions.  I am thinking about including a section titled "new things" that would include any new products or recipes I have tried and what I think of them.  Of course, there will eventually be a pictures tab once I have pictures I want to post.

The home page will always have my blog.  Thoughts and updates for what I am doing.  So there you have it.  Check my site often for news about what's going on with me!
